In the mid-19th century, eternally petrified hills, treacherous moors and vast heathlands, as well as two dissimilar houses, became the backdrop for Emily Brontë's famous novel, Wuthering Heights.

The tragic story of unfulfilled love and revenge transports the listener to the hilly region of West Yorkshire, England. It was there that Emily Brontë was captivated by those stormy heights, which is also one of the translations of the novel's English title. The landscape near Bradford, with its constricting nature, hints at the path the lives of two initially innocent children must take. For a while they just play at love, only to finally succumb to its gusts. The weather at Wuthering Heights and the nearby Thrushcross Grange seems to determine the doom that befalls the foundling Heathcliff, the haughty Catherine, and her friend and later husband, Edgar Linton. The spark of injustice eventually leaps to the descendants of these damned souls.
