Various: Pocta Semaforu - CD

SEMAFOR evergreen collection.

Dear and rare listeners,
at the turn of 1968 and 1969, the phone rang on my desk. “Good day, this is Šlitr, I would like to Mr Vágnere, offered an engagement, “Came from the handset. I asked when it should be. “Since tonight,“ was the reply. So I suddenly found myself in the play “Devil of Vinohrady“ on the boards of the Semafor Theater, which I always looked up with great respect and admiration. That evening, two years of wonderful cooperation began for me near two giants, Jiří Suchý and Jiří Šlitr.
I must admit that I am extremely proud of the fact that I am the author of several songs that Jiří Suchý provided with lyrics. The last one is the final song on the CD that you are holding in your hand. It is a work that is an expression of respect for Semaphore and Jiří Suchý and we shot it with great humility and love. I was recently quoted in the text on a selection of traffic light songs and I like to sign these words again. “I will never forget the wonderful cooperation with both Jiří Suchý and Jitka Molavcová. And if one of them called me at three in the morning that he needed me, I would hurry after him, for example. “I remember Semaphore with love. It was one of the most beautiful periods of my musician' s life.
Yours, Karel Vágner
