Various: Rok na dedine (Spring - Summer - Autumn - Winter) (2x CD) - CD

Although the scenic folkloric show A Year in the Village became a household name thanks to Martin Ťapák's television adaptation (premiered 17.5.1968), its origins can be traced back to the Slovak National Theatre, where it was performed from 1947–1953. The libretto and stage direction were by Ivan Teren and Karol Zachar, who had already taken Ťapák on as his assistant. In 1964, a recording was made which also formed the basis for the legendary television adaptation.
For allowing the beauty and diversity of Slovak folklore to shine in its full glory, we can thank Luba Pavlovičová-Baková and Tibor Andrašovan, and of course all the performers, whether they be solo singers (Darina Laščiaková, Eva Kristínová, etc.) or actors whose mastery shines through even without the television screen (Hana Meličková, Beta Poničanová, Olga Adamčíková, Emília Vášáryová, Vilma Jamnická, Jozef Kroner, Július Pántik, Viliam Záborský, Gustáv Valach, Jozef Adamovič, and many others). A Year in the Village is being released on CD for the very first time.
