Vatican Princess

Relations within the Borgia family are turbulent.

Was the legendary beauty Lucrezia Borgia, daughter of the cardinal and later Pope Alexander VI, an insidious femme fatale or an innocent girl who was used by her relatives for their own ends?
The lady who hides under the name of Vatican Princess is the famous noblewoman Lucrezia Borgia. She lived in Italy at the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries and her life is shrouded in many rumours, myths and gossip. Until her death in 1519, when she died of complications after childbirth, she was a model wife and mother, whose influence contributed to the flourishing of her family and of Ferrara. Their court was one of the most culturally and politically respected in Europe at the time, and Lucrezia enjoyed the respect and esteem of her subjects, noble allies and enemies alike. The Borgia family was renowned during this period for the ruthless and ruthless ways in which they conquered and maintained their position. At the same time, all members were characterized by profligacy and debauchery. The Borgia family's excesses were extreme even in a not-so-tight time, which is why their lives not only aroused the interest of their contemporaries, but also inspired numerous artists, even to this day.
Christopher W. Gortner, the author of The Vatican Princess, a contemporary American writer of popular books aimed primarily at female readers, often chooses attractive women as heroines who played a significant role in a particular historical era. He has written books on such ladies as Joan of Arc, Catherine de Medici and Coco Chanel. He does not write historical biographies, but very engaging and readable adventure stories. Such is also the story of the Vatican Princess. Although it does not always stick strictly to historical facts, it is extremely compelling, suspenseful and full of twists and turns. Although many of the characters in the novel have a real-life antecedent, it, what the audience will witness, is remarkable, original fiction on a historical theme, that will literally keep you breathless until the last page.
