Velodrome TJ Favorit Brno

Baurak – Everyone in Brno and the surrounding area knows that this is the name of the local velodrome. But few people know, that it is the oldest cycle path in the world, which has been raced since 1889 to the present, that it is always in the same place, that it still complies with the regulations of the International Cycling Union (UCI), that it hosted two world championships, that its roofing is one of the unique architectural features. TJ Favorit Brno has much to be proud of. The history of the velodrome is also a unique piece of our history. Not only sporting duels took place here, but also dramatic events of the last 135 years of our society. The silent witness deserves our admiration and efforts not only to preserve it, but to create a state-of-the-art temple of speed cycling.
