Velvet home

After escaping from wartime Sarajevo, eleven-year-old Maja finds herself in the Czech Republic with her twin brother Adin and her parents. Although at first she doesn't understand why she had to leave her country and her friends, she eventually falls in love with Czech culture and the complicated Czech language. But the guilt of leaving her grandmother in occupied territory is always at her heels. It's not easy for Maya's parents either. They have lost their family, their money and their country, but even in a foreign country they have to function and take care of their children's future.

A powerful story of a family of four who are forced to find a new home, make friends and integrate into society. Based on real events.
