Velvet Underground: Velvet Underground & Nico (Remastered) - CD

One of the most important records of all time - Velvet Underground & Nico celebrates his 45th anniversary with the famous Warhol banana. And how else but a rematerial re-edition.

„The Velvet Underground & Nico “is a studio album by the American experimental rock band The Velvet Underground and singer Nico; in both cases it is the debut album. It was originally released in March 1967 under Verve Records.

There have been few albums in the history of music whose influence has been as far-reaching as the impact of the debut album Velvet Underground. It took her over ten years, than exceeded the six-digit number in sales, but they drew glam rock from it, punk, new wave, gothic rock, noise and almost all other musical directions “to the left“ of the rock mainstream.

“Velveti“ sound much more pronounced here than their contemporaries, but the most surprising is the incredible variety of songs. Here you will find dream-pop (“Sunday Morning“), hard garage rock (“Waiting for the Man“), bone-exposed R & B (“There She Goes Again”), jazz-rock (“The Black Angel' s Death Song”) and a tame love song (“I' ll Be Your Mirror”).

Reed' s textual trips to the realm of drugs and perverted sex, which he most openly presents in the songs “Heroin“ and “Venus in Furs“, have always attracted the attention of the press and fans, but the music of Velvet Underground was as radical as their lyrics. This is evidenced by the rigid disharmony of the song “European Son“, the disturbing picturesqueness of “All Tomorrow' s Parties“ or the restless dynamics of the mentioned “Heroin“.

Nico' s contribution to this album is still debated; Andy Warhol' s share, however, was not just about signing checks. It was this controversial artist who allowed the group to record its material without compromise, which would probably not have happened under other circumstances.
