Vendula Borůvková: Magdalena Dobromila

The original radio play by Vendula Borůvková was written for the Brno stage diva Simona Peková. Although it is clear from the title that the main character of the play is the writer Magdalena Dobromila Rettigová, her cooking career, with which she is most often associated, is the least discussed in the play. The drama is based on the conflict between an ageing national builder and her successful daughter Jindřiška Milina, who has become an opera prima donna in Munich. The production is based on the expressive temperament of Simona Peková, who is opposed by her talented colleagues a generation younger. The music was composed in such a way that historicizing operatic references alternate with electronic ambient and sound collage, which can be exaggeratedly described as "kitchen industrial". Simona Peková was rightfully awarded second place in the Invisible Actor 2017 poll for her performance.
