8. The Trap in Torus Filney
The evil ruler of Meridian, Phobos, devises a cunning plan to uncover potential spies. He spreads a rumour that his Seal has been found. Caleb takes the bait and becomes trapped in treacherous quicksand. Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia and Hay Lin set out to help him, but they must miss the school play they were supposed to be starring in. They leave their Astral Drops, who are their perfect copies, to perform in their place. Unfortunately, the drops can't act out the witches' roles, so instead of a spectacular success, the girls are met by an angry headteacher and detention.

9. The Tracker Returns
A group of spies sent to Heatherfield by the evil Phobos spots Caleb, the rebel leader, and Blunk, the smuggler. They need the Guardians' help, but Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia and Hay Lin are all busy. They're hoping to get into the midnight premiere of the third instalment of a blockbuster film. The witches don't want to lose their place in the queue, so they take turns fighting the Tracker and his henchmen. However, they always find themselves noticeably short of one friend.

10. Framed
The witches are looking for ideas at the Heatherfield museum to inspire them for the school's carnival decorations – a medieval fair. During their visit, they are sucked into a medieval painting called The Last Tear. The other side of the painting hangs in the gallery of the evil ruler of Meridian, Phobos. Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia and Hay Lin are trapped between Earth and Meridian, trying to evade Phobos's lackeys. In this surreal watercolour world, they cannot use their magical powers, so they must wait for Elias Van Dahl, the artist of the painting, to come to their rescue. He is brought to them by Caleb, their hero and knight in shining armour, who leads the rebellion in Meridian.

11. The Star of Threbe
Phobos has managed to obtain a magical stone that was long lost. The owner of the stone can summon a lost person and, at the same time, drain the power of anyone who tries to prevent that person from returning home. Thanks to the stone, Phobos discovers where his sister is hiding on Earth and also strips the Guardians of their powers. As witches without magical abilities, Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia and Hay Lin cannot transform back. What's more, for unknown reasons, the ruler's sister and the true heir to the throne is drawn to the magical Star.
