Wasp time
A novel about the power of the past and the power of flowers
Bara and Birdman. Two people whose paths crossed long before they met. Bára is convinced that her life would have been much happier if someone had not intervened years ago and changed its direction. He may not bring back the past, but he can try to rewrite it in people's memories. And he's also thinking about revenge. But for now he is waiting, settling in his new home and planting flowers.
Unlike her, the birdman has learned to live with the past. He doesn't feel wronged, he doesn't mind that people think he's a freak, nor does loneliness bother him. All he needs to live is freedom, the forest and birdwatching. Or is it?
Alena Mornštajnová's new novel has everything that makes her books so popular: a deep story and believable characters who, despite adversity, step by step tread the path to a happier life.
Time of the Wasp is a book about solitude - about why we sometimes choose it, even when we don't actually desire it. It's not a story that will sweep you away with action. It's a book that slows you down, hugs you and makes you think. And maybe they'll eventually convince you that being with someone - despite the risks - is better than being alone.

They wrote about the book:
Time has its magic in contrasts. The style is gentle, the language caressing, the narrative almost tender - yet it speaks of things that hurt. The tender beginning subtly turns into a deeply moving drama. Mornstein trusts the reader. It doesn't rely on sensation, but on the power of the story. He believes that we will be interested in why people close in on themselves - and whether this can be changed.
