Wedding trip to Jilj

Wedding trip to Jilj
An audio version of the humorous novel on which the legendary TV movie was based.
Miroslav Skála wrote this sweet, funny and extremely captivating story of two young people who meet by chance, fall in love and take a pre-wedding journey through the mountains and the river to the small town of Jiljí in 1975. Based on this book, director Hynek Bočan made a television film of the same name in 1983. The main film heroes at the time were Libuše Šafránková and Josef Abrhám. Thanks to a great story, excellent dialogues but above all thanks to the extraordinary acting performances, this film has become a national treasure.
Now, two other talented young people - Tatiana Vilhelmová and Vojtěch Dyk - have seized the opportunity to translate the literary text into a sound version. Both of them have taken possession of the text in an extremely distinctive way. They tell the story of the pre-wedding journey of a naturalist and his beloved empathetic girl with taste, humour and gentle irony. The couple overcomes the rapids of the river, a storm on the mountains, vipers and many other obstacles in their way to the church in the town of Jilja, where their marriage finally takes place.
The music by Petr Skoumal that accompanies their travels is taken from the original TV film. Nevertheless, Vojtěch Dyk sings at least once in the story - a panychida for the destroyed ship. The wit and humour of the text, which could not be fully exploited in the film, is now, thanks to these two interpreters, manifested in all its sovereignty.
A great text, a legendary story and its new extraordinary performers!
