When the Dead are Silent

Renowned winemaker Dirk Levèfre is suspected of the brutal murder of his wife. No one believes he is innocent; the evidence is stacked against him. Dirk turns to his childhood friend, priest Paul Wagner – the only person who can still help him.

Paul reluctantly agrees. He left his hometown years ago because of a traumatic experience, and now the shadows of the past are relentlessly catching up with him.

Together with private detective Anna Steinbach, who is still deeply affected by her last case, they do everything they can to find the real perpetrator.

However, neither he nor Anna have any idea that they are dealing with more than just a murder. A depraved hunter lurks in the shadows. He hunts women to inflict unspeakable suffering upon them. So far, only his victims know who he is. And he will stop at nothing to keep it that way.

THE NINTH CASE FOR STEINBACH AND WAGNER.
