When the grass ripens

Two men die shortly after each other in the county seat. No one would be surprised if they left because of old age, for they were already more than ninety years old, but they were brutally murdered. Who was interested in taking the lives of the old man over the grave? The detectives are looking for motives and trying to find out what the victims might have in common. Karel Schwarz and his assistant Maria get involved in the search when, on their way to a popular playground in Nová Amerika near Jaroměř, they narrowly miss an old house, a former village pub, one wall of which collapses onto the road just moments before they were due to pass by.
