Wild Bill: Tsunami - CD

The seventh studio album from Divokej Bill is here!

Entitled Tsunami, the album comes out four years after their last platinum-selling album, 15.

Divokej Bill took their time collecting songs for the new album. Some were written from scratch in the period since the last record, while others had been works in progress for several years, just waiting to be brought to life.

A dozen new songs were finally recorded during the first few months of 2017, with Vašek Bláha and Roman Procházka as the main songwriters. As always, the overall arrangements are a collaborative effort from the whole band, with producer Pavel Karlík also making a significant contribution. In addition to the usual instrumentation, we can also look forward to banjo player Jack on the harmonica in some songs, Jurda on the double bass, and even string sections courtesy of the Apollon Quartet and some synthetic sounds.

Thematically, the album is classic Bill—a bit of everything. The lyrics are about freedom, friendship, and love. They're mostly about joy, with a touch of melancholy, but also about parties and life in a band. There's even a nod to their favourite nautical theme. The nautical song, Naděje (Hope), has a very interesting story behind it: each band member wrote a verse for themselves and then sang it on the record.

Another interesting track is Země draků (Land of Dragons). It was written at the request of graphic designer and author Jan Bodrov, who asked the band for a song for his fantasy book.

The album also features last year's single of the same name, Tsunami, the current single Kořala, and more.
