Wild Kurdistan

Kara ben Nemsi rescues the sheik's son. In the Shadow of Padishah is set in the mountains of Kurdistan, where the fortress of Amadiya lies, from where Kara ben Nessie is to free Sheikh Amin's son. The heroes have a lot to do around the cities of Mosul and Amadiya. Kara ben Nemsí and his friends, Sheikh Muhammad Amin and Haji Halef, a servant, set out for the Turkish fortress of Amadiyah, where they intend to rescue Amin's son Ahmad El Gandour, who is being held there unjustly by the Turks. The journey first leads them to the Yezidis, whom they help in their fight against the fierce Turks. When they arrive in the Kurdish mountains, in the impregnable rock fortress of Amadiya, they are met with the bluntness of the Turkish garrison. Fortunately, the Muslim commander has a weakness for strong red wine, and Ben Nemsí gets him drunk and tricks him into a dungeon, where he helps Amin's son escape. The friends then head north to Kurdistan, where new obstacles await them. Kara ben Nessie prevents a blood feud between Islamic Kurds and Christian Nestorians and is revered as the man who managed to bring peace between the enemies.
