Witness to a murder

Lady Eleanor Swift, an amateur sleuth, is determined to take a break from investigating murders. When a local politician dies suddenly at a dinner party at Farrington Manor, he tries not to listen to the gossip that he has been poisoned by chocolate fudge. It's the anniversary of her parents' disappearance and she's vowed not to get involved in any more mysteries. However, when she arrives home to find that the kindly cook at Farrington Manor has been dismissed without pay because the police consider her a suspect, Eleanor knows she must act.
