Notary Barbaric and the mysterious crime at the castle of the robber knights
The castle on Mount Sitno has always guarded the way to the rich mining towns. In the autumn of 1599, due to the Turkish threat, it is well armed, with a large garrison. Yet the castellan's daughter disappears from it. He disappears in the middle of the night, without a trace. The desperate castle administrator asks for help from the notary Barbaric from nearby Štiavnica. This time, the barbarian faces a mystery on his own that seemingly has no solution. Was it an escape, a kidnapping or even murder?
The situation is complicated by the fact that the wife of the great Illésházy, supposedly the richest and most powerful woman in the kingdom, has taken refuge in Sitna. What's more, Barbaric has no idea that the castle has another, secret inhabitant that no one must know about. The castle's bloody past and Sitnian tales of a cursed underground army, cruel robber knights, ghosts and bandit treasures are gradually woven into the complex case. Can Barbaric do well without the help of Stein and Jaros?
