Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Requiem

LP Record A classic, remastered: Mozart's Requiem in Nikolaus Harnoncourt's legendary 1981 recording. "Here I can hear Mozart's own voice," Nikolaus Harnoncourt once said of the great composer's Requiem. To mark the fifth anniversary of the star conductor's death, Warner Classics is reissuing Harnoncourt's acclaimed 1981 interpretation, while also honouring several anniversaries: Mozart's Requiem was first performed 230 years ago, the same year Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart died before its completion – and the recording itself was made exactly 40 years ago. The recording, which won the German Record Prize at the time, thrives on the intense emotionality of Harnoncourt's musical style.
