Year of the Raven

The early 2040s. While Western Europe prospers, the Czech Republic is ravaged by ethnic war. Parts of Czech territory have been leased to obscure private companies, and the rest is controlled by gangs of marauders.

But there is a story about Havran, a warrior without fear or blemish, who fights alone against bandits in this lawless land, protecting the defenceless and repaying violence with violence. But is Havran real, or just a hoax or a viral sensation? An agent of the Czech government-in-exile ventures into the desolate and depopulated Czech basin to find out the truth about Havran.

"At its core, however, Rok Havrana remains a classic Šlechta action-adventure. It just takes place in the most colourful setting yet and pits the worst fears of a civilisational clash, mistrust of the EU and its relationship with our country, the certainty that nothing good will come from Russia, and the feeling that pure fandom or the effort to protect nature have long since gone off the rails and out of control. It is worth repeating: the post-apocalyptic Šlechta is worth attention both as a readable action novel and as an exploration of the fears that currently prevail in a large part of domestic society. "
