Zagorová, Hana: Vyznání - CD

This dozen-song album, Vyznání, offers a listening experience ranging from piano ballads and gentle electronica to the effective use of a variety of acoustic instruments, including strings. Music producer Dan Hádl has unified the compositional starting points of figures like Petr Malásek, Jiří Zmožek, Karel Vágner, and Vítězslav Hádl into a compact form that supports the impact of the lyrics. In the pop-chanson category, the lyrics are traditionally important, whether written by the singer herself or with stylistic help from Václav Kopta, Eduard Krečmar, Pavel Žák (after a long hiatus), or the poet L'ubomír Feldek.

Of particular interest are the completely original songs by Radoslav Banga and Jiří Březík, and an extraordinary song by Jiří Hradil and Mardi—men from a seemingly entirely different musical world. Carefully selected foreign songs also contribute to the necessary dramatic effect of Vyznání, with three instances coming from Zagorová's beloved world of French music, and one from the high-quality Polish repertoire that rightly caught her attention.
