Zdena Salivarová: Gentlemen's Ride

Zdena Salivarová made her debut with the short story triptych Pánská jízdzda in 1968. At that time, the dramaturgy student at FAMU was strongly influenced by Milan Kundera. Perhaps that is why she created her first book as a polemic with Kundera's Ridiculous Loves. In a trio of short stories, she has distinctively sketched tragicomic positions of love relationships, where the contradiction of the male and female concept of love contributes to the tension.
