Meteospasmyl is a combination medicine containing alverine citrate, a pain reliever, and simethicone, which counteracts bloating and flatulence. When taken by mouth, simethicone forms a protective film on the intestinal mucosa and alverine citrate gradually relieves the tension of the intestinal wall. Meteospasmyl is taken without consulting a physician to treat symptoms of functional bowel disorders that manifest as feelings of full bowels, bloating, increased intestinal flatulence.
Dosage and method of use
Always take this medicine exactly as directed in the package insert or by your doctor or pharmacist. Usually adults take 1 capsule 2-3 times a day. The capsules are taken at the beginning of a meal, swallowed unchewed and washed down with a sufficient amount of liquid. Unsupervised treatment is allowed for a maximum of 7 consecutive days. The daily dose of the preparation without the recommendation of a doctor should not exceed 3 capsules per day.
Contraindications
Not intended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any of the components of the product. Read the package insert carefully.
