The surface is also very easy to clean and does not require special cleaning agents. This helps the dishwasher maintain its elegant appearance over the long term, making maintenance quick and effortless.
Fast and effective washing with the QuickPowerWash programme
The QuickPowerWash programme, combined with UltraTabs All in 1 tablets, delivers perfectly washed and dried dishes in approximately 58 minutes. The specially developed tablets dissolve in the MIELE G 5817 SCi XXL dishwasher within 2–3 minutes, so the cleaning action starts immediately, making the entire washing process maximally effective from the very beginning.
Dishwasher with advanced AutoOpen drying
The AutoOpen technology automatically opens the dishwasher door slightly after the programme finishes on the MIELE G 5817 SCi XXL Active Plus CleanSteel. Accumulated steam can then escape naturally, which helps to perfectly dry all items, including plastic ones. A specially designed system also protects the worktop from moisture and, together with optimised airflow, ensures maximum drying efficiency for this model.
Comfort basket system for flexible dish arrangement
The Comfort system offers a practical and well-thought-out internal layout for the MIELE G 5817 SCi XXL Active Plus CleanSteel dishwasher. The original Miele cutlery tray washes your cutlery thoroughly yet gently. The height-adjustable upper basket, in conjunction with the MultiComfort area in the lower basket, ensures a variable arrangement for different types of dishes, so every item has a stable and secure place. In addition, the colourful FlexAssist elements help you quickly identify the movable parts and make optimal use of the basket space.
FlexAssist for quick and easy basket adjustments
The FlexAssist markings show which basket elements can be moved or adjusted according to your current needs. Coloured symbols, such as a cup or wine glass, indicate the optimal use for that area. They also serve as practical handles, allowing you to instantly utilise the basket's full flexibility and conveniently adapt the space in the MIELE G 5817 SCi XXL Active Plus dishwasher for various types of dishes.
3D-MultiFlex cutlery tray for maximum flexibility
The 3D-MultiFlex cutlery tray in the MIELE G 5817 SCi XXL Active Plus CleanSteel dishwasher offers an improved layout for cutlery and small kitchen utensils. It consists of a lowered central section and two side sections that can be individually adjusted – the left section can be slid to the right to free up space for tall wine glasses in the upper basket, and the lowered right section can comfortably hold large cutlery and smaller items of crockery. This clever system allows you to use every centimetre of the tray and ensures optimal washing and drying of all items, whether it's cutlery, espresso cups or other small pieces.
MIELE G 5817 SCi XXL Active Plus CleanSteel holds up to 14 place settings
The MIELE G 5817 SCi XXL Active Plus CleanSteel dishwasher comfortably holds up to 14 place settings. The baskets are designed for flexibility and efficiency, so every piece of dishware finds its place and all items are perfectly clean and dry after washing. The FlexAssist elements make loading cutlery and smaller items quick, intuitive, and extremely practical.
EcoPower technology for economical washing
The ECO programme reduces water consumption to just 8.4 litres, which also reduces the amount of energy needed for heating. This water saving is made possible by a cleverly designed inflow system and a highly efficient filter system. Additional insulation minimises heat loss and, together with optimised water flow, contributes to even lower energy consumption and maximum washing efficiency.
The MIELE G 5817 SCi XXL Active Plus washes exclusively with fresh water
The MIELE G 5817 SCi XXL Active Plus CleanSteel uses only fresh water and, in the Automatic programme, washes dishes with just 6 litres of water, which is less than the volume of a standard kitchen sink. This technology has reduced water consumption by up to 85% and has also lowered electricity consumption. In the ECO programme, the dishwasher achieves a record-low value of just 0.52kWh, ensuring maximum energy and water savings.
Wash programmes for every occasion
The MIELE G 5817 SCi XXL Active Plus CleanSteel offers a wide range of programmes and additional functions to cover various washing needs. The selectable programmes ensure flexible and efficient washing for different types of dishes and situations – whether you need an eco-friendly cycle, intensive cleaning, or a quick wash.
- Automatic – a universal programme suitable for normally soiled mixed loads; it adjusts the wash parameters according to the level of soiling.
- ECO programme – with minimal water and energy consumption, ideal for everyday washing of normally used dishes.
- Intensive 75°C – a stronger wash programme for durable and heavily soiled items, such as pots and pans.
- PowerWash 60°C – a fast and effective programme for normal dishes with normal food residues.
- QuickPowerWash – a programme for the best washing and drying results on normally soiled dishes in approximately 58 minutes; created from PowerWash 60°C with the additional Quick function.
- Gentle – a gentle programme for delicate glassware and sensitive dishes.
- Express – an option to reduce the washing time by up to 50% for quick results with a smaller load.
- Extra clean – an optional function that increases cleaning performance without compromising on wash quality.
- Extra dry – an option for more intensive drying, so even glasses and plastic items are dry after the cycle.
ComfortClose for easy door opening and closing
The door of the MIELE G 5817 SCi XXL Active Plus CleanSteel dishwasher opens and closes with exceptional ease, making it comfortable and effortless to handle. What's more, it remains stable in any position you choose – whether the door is slightly ajar for quick access to your dishes, or fully open when loading and unloading the baskets. This feature enhances convenience during daily use.
Brilliant GlassCare for perfect glassware care
The Brilliant GlassCare system ensures exceptionally gentle washing for delicate glassware. The Gentle programme operates at a low temperature of 45°C, so even thin glasses are protected throughout the entire wash cycle. Wine glasses can be securely placed in the FlexCare holder with silicone pads, which keeps them stable during the wash. After the programme finishes, the patented AutoOpen function automatically opens the dishwasher door slightly, allowing for natural drying without the need for subsequent manual polishing. Precisely tailored detergents with a glass-protecting formula also contribute to optimal care, keeping your glasses shiny and damage-free.
Miele dishwasher can be connected to a hot water supply
The MIELE G 5817 SCi XXL Active Plus CleanSteel can be connected to a hot water supply of up to 60°C. This connection reduces electricity consumption by up to 35% and simultaneously shortens the programme duration by up to 10%. In the ECO programme, the dishwasher's electricity consumption drops to as low as 0.29kWh, ensuring ecological and economical operation.
MIELE G 5817 SCi XXL Active Plus CleanSteel has a Waterproof System for maximum safety
The Waterproof System (WPS) is equipped with a second solenoid valve directly on the water tap, which automatically shuts off the water supply if the first valve fails. A double-walled inlet hose provides another level of safety – if the inner hose is damaged, water is channelled through the outer hose into the dishwasher's sump, minimising the risk of water leakage and ensuring reliable, safe operation.
Tested for a 20-year lifespan
The MIELE G 5817 SCi XXL dishwasher was tested during development to last for 20 years of regular use. During the testing phase, the model and its key components underwent 5600 wash cycles (equivalent to an average of 280 cycles per year for 20 years) across various programmes – day and night – to verify their reliability and long-term performance. Thanks to these thorough tests, you can be confident of excellent washing and drying results for the entire lifespan of the appliance, year after year.
Effective against viruses – scientifically proven
The MIELE G 5817 SCi XXL Active Plus CleanSteel dishwasher delivers a scientifically proven high level of hygiene. During the washing process, more than 99.9% of viruses are removed, ensuring your dishes are safe and perfectly clean. This feature provides reliable protection and promotes a healthy home environment where hygiene is a priority.
