How does MUCOSOLVAN work?

How to dose?
Children under 2 years: 2 times a day 2.5 ml
Children from 2 to 5 years: 3 times a day 2.5 ml
Children from 6 to 12 years: 2-3 times a day 5 ml Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: 3 times a day 10 ml

Dosage and method of use
The dosage of Mucosolvan Junior syrup is graded according to age as follows:
Children under 2 years of age take 2.5 ml 2 times a day
Children 2-5 years 2.5 ml 3 times a day
Children 6-12 years 5 ml 2-3 times a day
Children over 12 years: 10 ml 3 times a day.
Can be taken with or without food. The syrup should be given at regular intervals. Children should drink plenty of fluids to encourage coughing up mucus. To measure out the appropriate doses, use the included measuring cup. Open the bottle by pressing the cap downwards and turning it counterclockwise.
Contraindications
If the child has a hypersensitivity or allergy to ambroxol or to any other component of the product, Mucosolvan Junior should not be administered. In patients with severe renal impairment, the drug should be taken with caution, as ambroxol is metabolized and excreted by the body, which can lead to accumulation of the active substance. If the child has severe liver disease, the use of Mucosolvan Junior should also be considered with caution as the liver plays a key role in the metabolisation of the drug. Caution is advised in children with a history of gastric or duodenal ulcers as the drug may irritate the lining of the digestive tract. In children with asthma, the drug should be used with caution as mucolytics may initially increase mucus production and provoke coughing.
Storage
Keep this product out of sight and reach of children. Do not use this product after the expiry date stated on the box and bottle. The expiry date shall be the last day of the month indicated. Use within 6 months after first opening. This product does not require any special storage conditions.
