It is used for acute rhinitis, allergic rhinitis and attacks of non-infectious vasomotor rhinitis (rhinitis vasomotorica). It is also used in consultation with a physician to strengthen the outflow of secretions from the sinuses, for inflammation of the auditory (Eustachian) tube and otitis media due to rhinitis and for diagnostic decongestion of mucous membranes.
Dosage and method of use
Nasivin 0.05% drops is intended for adults and school children from 8 years of age for nasal application. Unless your doctor recommends otherwise, 1-2 drops are administered 2-3 times daily into each nostril. The effect can occur within seconds of application and lasts up to 8 hours.
Contraindications
Like all medicines, this medicine may have side effects, but they may not
occur in everyone.
The following side effects may occur when using Nasivin:
Common (affecting up to 1 in 10 people):
burning and dryness of the nasal mucosa, sneezing
Uncommon (affecting up to 1 in 100 people):
intense feeling of "stuffy" nose, nosebleeds after the effect wears off
Rare (affecting up to 1 in 1,000 people):
heart palpitations (palpitations), rapid heartbeat (tachycardia), headache, insomnia, fatigue (drowsiness, attenuation), hallucinations and restlessness (especially in children)
Unknown (cannot be determined from available data):
increase in blood pressure, convulsions (especially in children), hypersensitivity reactions (rash, itching, swelling of the skin and
mucous membranes)
Notice
Do not use Nasivin if you or your child is allergic to oxymetazoline hydrochloride or any other ingredient in this medicine;
if you or your child have a form of chronic rhinitis (rhinitis sicca), manifested by swollen mucous membranes associated with crusting, often accompanied by small bleeding after the crusts have separated.
Storage
Keep this product out of sight and reach of children. Do not use this product after the expiry date stated on the box and bottle for "EXP." The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated. This medicine does not require any special storage conditions. Once opened, Nasivin should not be used for more than 6 months. Do not dispose of any medicines in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of products you no longer use. These measures help protect the environment the environment.
