Using Nicorette®

Instructions for use: Put one nicotine lozenge in your mouth and let it dissolve. Move the lozenge in your mouth from one side to the other until the lozenge is completely dissolved.

Dosage:
The choice of strength of the compressed lozenge (hereafter referred to as lozenge) depends on individual smoking habits. Adults Nicorette Mint 4 mg compressed lozenges are suitable for smokers with high nicotine dependence, i.e. who smoke their first cigarette within 30 minutes of waking up, or who smoke more than 20 cigarettes a day. Lozenges should not be taken for more than 9 months. If patients feel the need for longer treatment, they should consult a healthcare professional. Counselling and support within a behavioural programme usually increases the success of treatment. Abrupt cessation of smoking: During treatment with Nicorette Mint lozenges, the patient should make every effort to stop smoking completely. The lozenges should be taken whenever you feel like smoking. A sufficient number of lozenges should be taken daily; most smokers usually need 8 to 12 lozenges, but not more than 15. The length of treatment is individual, but up to 6 weeks is recommended to break the smoking habit. The nicotine dose should then be gradually reduced by reducing the total number of lozenges taken per day. Treatment should be discontinued after reducing the daily dose to 1-2 lozenges. Using lozenges to reinforce complete smoking abstinence is possible whenever the irresistible urge to smoke comes on. A supply of lozenges should be available for use whenever the urge to smoke arises.

Method of administration:
Oral administration. One lozenge is placed in the mouth and allowed to dissolve. It is repeatedly moved from one side of the mouth to the other until the lozenge is completely dissolved (approximately 16-19 minutes). Lozenges should not be chewed or swallowed whole. Patients should not eat or drink with the lozenge in their mouth. To open: 1- Gently press the tab that says "press here" 2- At the same time pull the top of the box firmly

Storage

Keep this product out of sight and reach of children. Do not use this product after the expiry date stated on the packaging after EXP. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

After removing the packaging, use within 3 months. Do not reuse the packaging for other purposes due to possible fine coating of the packaging with trap dust. Do not dispose of any medicines in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of products you no longer use. These measures help protect the environment.

Over-the-counter medicine. Read the full package leaflet carefully before taking this medicine. The use of patches for more than 6 months is generally not recommended. Consult your doctor if you need to use the product for longer than recommended to avoid returning to smoking.

Ingredients

One pressed lozenge contains 4 mg of nicotine (as nicotine resinate). Excipients: E421, xanthan gum, complex menthol aroma, E414, E500(i), E955, E950, E470b, E464, E171, E460, E555, E433.
