Nicotine replacement therapy releases therapeutic nicotine into the bloodstream at much lower doses than in a cigarette - and without the harmful chemicals of tobacco smoke. The doses of therapeutic nicotine in the medicines are low enough not to cause dependence, yet strong enough to help manage unpleasant withdrawal symptoms and cravings during quitting. Nicorette® also allows you to adjust the dosage according to the immediate need. The nicotine dose is slowly reduced over time until you can give up nicotine completely. In the case of severe addiction, combination therapy in the form of transdermal patches combined with oral spray or 2mg medicinal chewing gum is also possible. Using Nicorette®

Always use this medicine exactly as directed in the package insert or by your doctor or pharmacist. If you are unsure, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Persons under 18 years of age must not use Nicorette Spray. The instructions for using Nicorette® Spray depend on whether you are quitting immediately or whether you are gradually reducing the number of cigarettes you smoke before you stop smoking completely.

Actual cessation of smoking:
The goal is to quit smoking immediately and use the spray to relieve the irresistible urge to smoke. Do not use more than 2 injections at a time or 4 injections per hour over 16 hours. The highest dose is 64 injections over 16 hours for a 24-hour period.1. step: Week 1 - 6 Use 1 or 2 puffs at a time when you would normally smoke a cigarette or when you feel like having a smoke. First inject once, and if the craving for a cigarette does not subside within a few minutes, inject a second time. If 2 injections are required, the next dosage can be given as 2 consecutive injections. For most smokers, this means about 1-2 puffs every 30 minutes to 1 hour. Step 2: Week 7 - 9 Start reducing the number of injections per day. By the end of Week 9, you should be using HALF the average number of injections per day compared to Step 1. Step 3: Week 10 - Week 12 Continue to reduce the number of injections per day so that you are not using more than 4 injections per day at week 12. Once you have reduced your dose to 2-4 injections per day, you should stop using Nicorette Spray.

Smoking cessation:
The goal is to start gradually replacing a few of your cigarettes with Nicorette® Spray and gradually reduce your habit. Once you have reached your goal, you can quit smoking cigarettes altogether and continue taking the spray. Eventually, you will stop using the spray.

How to use Nicorette® Spray: Turn the spray nozzle towards your open mouth and hold it as close to your mouth as possible. Squeeze the top of the dispenser and inject once into the mouth, avoid injecting on the lips. When injecting, do not inhale to prevent the spray from entering the throat. For best effect, do not swallow for a few seconds after injection.

Storage

Keep this product out of sight and reach of children. Do not use this product after the expiry date stated on the dispenser and on the blister after EXP. The expiry date shall be the last day of the month indicated. Store at temperatures up to 30 °C. Do not dispose of any medicines in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of products you no longer use. These measures help to protect the environment, especially the aquatic environment in the case of nicotine.
