Noctua NF-A14x25 G2 PWM chromax. black
The Noctua NF-A14×25 G2 PWM chromax.black fan brings a new level of quiet cooling to PC cases and water cooling radiators. This 140mm PWM fan uses advanced aerodynamic development, combining an innovative blade design with an extremely rigid Sterrox LCP material. It achieves a high airflow of 155.6 m³/h and a static pressure of 2.56 mm H₂O, all while maintaining a low noise level. This quiet PC fan will satisfy even the most demanding users who want performance without distracting sounds. Whether you use the fan to exhaust heat from the case or on a radiator, its design, with an ultra-tight gap between the blades and the frame, works effectively even against high resistance. Plus, the Noctua chromax.black finish fits perfectly into modern builds that prioritise a unified look.
Key features of the Noctua NF-A14×25 G2 PWM, chromax.black PC fan
- Advanced aerodynamic design with Progressive Bend blades and a Centrifugal Turbulator hub
- Sterrox LCP material blades for high rigidity and stability
- Tight gap between blades and frame ensures high static pressure
- Improved SSO2 bearing with a metal shell provides long-term reliability
- PWM speed control offers a wide range and stops at 0% signal
- All-black chromax.black design allows for colour customisation
Sterrox LCP material and tight construction
The fan uses blades made from Sterrox LCP (Liquid-Crystal Polymer) composite, which features high tensile strength and very low thermal expansion. This material effectively suppresses blade resonance and vibrations even at high speeds. This stability allowed the manufacturer to design a frame with a record-breakingly small 0.7mm gap between the blade tips and the frame. This tight construction limits air leakage at the edges and increases the fan's efficiency against back pressure, which is crucial when installed on dense cooler fins or water cooling radiators where the fan has to push air through an obstacle.
Acoustic optimisation and quiet operation
The fan features an AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frame to optimise its acoustic profile. This frame integrates anti-vibration pads made of soft silicone, which absorb minor vibrations and prevent them from transferring to the PC case. Aerodynamic features also contribute to the quiet operation, such as Flow Acceleration Channels on the blades and Inner Surface Microstructures on the frame. These technologies work together to improve airflow, reduce turbulence, and lower the noise generated as the blades pass. The improved SSO2 bearing with a metal shell then contributes to long-term stability and low operating noise.
Motor and speed control of the Noctua NF-A14×25 G2 PWM PC fan
The fan is powered by an etaPERF motor controlled by an advanced NE-FD6 PWM chip. This motor operates with high energy efficiency and, thanks to SupraTorque technology, delivers the necessary torque to maintain stable speeds even with increased air resistance, for example when used on high-density radiators. The second generation of SSO2 (Self-stabilising Oil-pressure Bearing) bearings ensures smooth and reliable operation, housed in a precision-machined brass shell for maximum accuracy. Speed control is handled by a 4-pin PWM connector with a range up to 1500 RPM, and at a 0% PWM signal, the fan stops completely for absolutely silent operation at low loads.
