Key Features of Norsan Omega-3 Vegan Oil
- NORSAN Omega-3 Vegan is a 100% vegetable algae oil extracted from the marine microalgae Schizochytrium sp. These are microscopic algae that feed only on organic and plant matter such as dead leaves. Microalgae Schizochytrium sp. are particularly rich in the marine omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA. Therefore, it is perfectly suited for the production of vegan omega-3 oil. Our omega-3 algae oil contains a naturally high dose of omega-3, so no chemical treatments such as concentration are necessary.
- Why flaxseed oil alone is not enough - EPA and DHA are present in marine fish, algae and shellfish. Most omega-3 vegetable oils, such as flaxseed and chia oil, contain only the plant omega-3 fatty acid ALA (alpha-linolenic acid), but no EPA or DHA.
- Nuts and chia seeds contain ALA - as well as linseed oil, which contains particularly high levels of ALA. Unfortunately, ALA can only be converted to the important marine omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA to a limited extent. The conversion factor is only 0.5-10% and is highly dependent on weight, metabolism and other factors. Scientific studies generally agree that ALA intake alone cannot regulate EPA and DHA deficiency.

Oil rich in DHA and EPA from the microalga Schizochytrium sp. (72,6%), modified tapioca starch, moisturizing agent (glycerin), sunflower oil (1.9%), aroma (rosemary extract), antioxidant (potent tocopherol extract, ascorbyl palmitate).
Recommended dosage
The recommended daily dose is 4 capsules during or just after a meal. Wash them down with plenty of fluids. One box contains 80 capsules.
