- Bromelain- is a combination of several enzymes from an extract that is extracted with pineapple water. This extract has primarily a proteolytic effect - its basic function is the digestion of proteins, which are subsequently converted into amino acids - so important in many physiological processes of our body. At the same time, bromelain inhibits the action of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins and plays a very important role in the process of fibrinolysis, the physiological process of breaking down blood clots.
- Papain - although it is very similar in action to its predecessor - bromelain, its origin is quite different - it is obtained from the fruit of the papaya. It is an enzyme that also has the ability to break down proteins and, like bromelain, improves the process of their digestion. Supports anti-inflammatory processes. The combination of these two substances in dietary supplements is therefore not accidental - their beneficial properties complement each other.
