Paralen SUS is indicated for the treatment of fever, especially in acute bacterial and viral infections, toothache (including teething pain), Title, neuralgia, muscle or joint pain of non-inflammatory aetiology. PARALEN SUS can be given to children and infants from 3 months with a minimum weight of 5 kilograms.
Composition of Paralen SUS 24 mg/ml
As the name suggests, 1 ml of suspension contains 24 mg of medicinal paracetamol. Paracetamol is mainly used to relieve pain and reduce fever. It is effective in treating headaches, toothaches, muscle and joint pain and fever associated with colds or flu. Due to its gentle effect on the stomach, it is often preferred as an alternative to other analgesics.
Dosage and method of use
The table shows the individual and maximum daily doses of Paralen SUS by age and weight of the child. Each pack includes a 6 ml syringe for oral administration, divided in 0.25 ml increments, which can be used to measure the dose accurately. Shake the contents of the bottle thoroughly (about 5 seconds). The bottle is fitted with a child safety cap. Open it by pressing the cap down firmly and unscrewing it counterclockwise. Push the syringe through the sealing insert in the neck of the vial into the suspension. Fill the syringe by pulling out the plunger with the required amount of suspension according to the marking on the syringe (ml). Remove the syringe from the neck of the vial. Give the suspension to the child either by inserting the end of the syringe into the mouth and gently pressing the plunger, or by squirting the suspension onto a spoon and giving it to the child with a spoon. If the prescribed dose is greater than 6 ml, repeat the measurement as necessary. Close the bottle carefully after use. Wash the syringe with warm water and let it dry. The suspension should be washed down with a sufficient amount of liquid (e.g. water or tea).
Contraindications
If there is no resolution of the symptoms (fever, pain) within 2 days, or if the symptoms worsen or unusual reactions occur, consult a doctor about further administration of the medicine to the child.
Storage
Keep this product out of sight and reach of children. Store at temperatures up to 25 °C in a tightly closed bottle to protect the product from light and moisture. Shelf life after first opening: 6 months. Do not use this product after the expiry date stated on the packaging. The expiry date shall be the last day of the month indicated. Do not dispose of any medicines in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of products you no longer use. These measures help protect the environment.
Notice
Read the package insert carefully. The active ingredient paracetamol is contained in a number of different drugs, beware of combining them. Do not take more than one paracetamol medicine at the same time.
