INVITAL Seiryu stone decorative stones in a 500g pack are designed for detailed aquascaping work. This fraction consists of small fragments, 1–4cm in size, which are ideal for modelling scree fields, complementing main stones, or creating perspective in mini aquariums. This natural rock of Asian origin has a characteristic wrinkled texture with sharp edges and white calcite veins. Due to its composition, it slightly increases water hardness (kH and gH) and stabilises the pH, which should be taken into account when keeping softwater species.

Dramatic texture for a natural look

Seiryu stones have a highly detailed texture that mimics real mountain scenery. Their surface is formed by sharp, eroded edges and deep troughs, typical of metamorphosed limestone rock. The colour spectrum ranges from light grey to blue-grey and is intersected by contrasting crystalline veins of calcite. When submerged in water, the grey tones of the stones darken, which, in combination with green plants, creates an impressive visual effect and adds depth to the aquarium.

Effect on aquarium water parameters

Due to their natural composition, Seiryu stones affect the chemical properties of the aquarium water. The rock contains calcium carbonate, which gradually releases calcium and magnesium ions. This causes a slight increase in both general and carbonate hardness (gH and kH). At the same time, the stones act as a natural buffer, stabilising the pH in a slightly alkaline range and preventing sudden fluctuations. This effect should be considered when selecting plants and animals, especially species that require soft water.

Use for detailed modelling

This pack is specifically compiled as 'detailing stones', which are small stones intended for final touches and details in aquascaping. You can use them to create fine scree fields beneath the main stones or to form a natural transition between rocks and a sandy bottom. In mini aquariums, they help to visually enhance perspective. Each pack undergoes manual inspection, so it only contains pieces with a distinct texture and veining. The stones are suitable for Iwagumi and Ryuboku layouts.
