Prima Home IgE Allergy Test 1 pcs

The ultimate rapid test for the detection of immunoglobulins class E (IgE). The test is designed for self-testing. It is performed from a drop of blood. It serves as an aid to early identification of a possible allergic reaction. The threshold concentration is 100 UI/ml. What is immunoglobulin E (IgE)? Class E immunoglobulins (IgE) are the class of antibodies most involved in allergic reactions. Under normal conditions, IgE antibodies are present in the blood in very small amounts. But when they come into contact with the substance, that the body is allergic to, their concentrations increase and can trigger a cascade of reactions leading to the main symptoms of an allergic reaction (such as skin erythema, itching, repeated sneezing, stinging and watery eyes and in some cases anaphylactic shock). This is why it is important to check if IgE levels are above normal, especially in individuals who have a family history of allergies. Test results showing above-average IgE levels allow doctors to start looking for the substances causing the allergic reaction and define the appropriate therapy. The IgE ALLERGY TEST allows you to check the IgE levels in your blood and determine the sensitivity of the allergic reaction.

Key Features of the Prima Home Allergy IgE Home Test 1 pcs

  • The principle of the test TEST IgE FOR ALLERGIES is an immunochromatographic test that detects the presence of IgE antibodies in the blood in above-average concentrations using special gold-labeled monoclonal antibodies on a reagent strip.
  • How is the IgE ALLERGY TEST performed? IgE antibodies are produced in large quantities by our body in response to certain substances that are defined as allergens. The IgE ALLERGY TEST specifically identifies human IgE antibodies and reveals whether the concentration of these antibodies in the blood is greater than 100 IU/ml. In some cases, even samples with IgE concentrations below this value (between 70 IU/ml and 99 IU/ml) may give a positive test result. The test was calibrated according to the 3rd International Standard NIBSC 11/234.

When can I use the test?
The IgE ALLERGY TEST is recommended for symptoms typical of allergic reactions such as itchy and/or red skin, watery eyes and repeated sneezing. The test can be performed at any time of the day. If you're on medication, advise, Please, with your doctor, to check, whether medication, that you're using, does not alter IgE levels in the bloodstream.
Could the result be incorrect?
The result is correct if the instructions are followed carefully. However, the result may not be correct if the test cartridge comes into contact with other liquids before use, if the amount of blood is not sufficient, or if the number of drops dispensed into well S is greater than 3.
How should I interpret the test result if the colour intensity of the lines in the test and control areas of the test differs?
The colour and intensity of the lines are not important for the interpretation of the result. The lines must be full and homogeneous. The test is positive regardless of the intensity of the line colour in the T test area.
Is the result reliable if I read it after more than 5 minutes?
No. The test must be read 5 minutes after the completion of the test, but no later than 6 minutes.
What should I do if the result is positive?
A positive result means that the level of IgE class antibodies detected in the blood is higher than normal. You should consult your doctor and show him the results of the test. The doctor will decide which other tests to perform or send you to an allergist.
What should I do if the result is negative?
A negative result means that the level of IgE class antibodies detected in the blood is lower than normal. If symptoms persist, consult your doctor.
How accurate is the IgE ALLERGY TEST?
The test is very accurate. Evaluation reports show agreement rates with reference methods above 92% (CI 95%: 88,23 - 96,69 %).
