Prima Home test Iron FER 1 pcs
The Prima Home Iron FER test is a self-diagnostic test designed to determine the level of iron, or. Ferritin from the whole blood sample. The ferritin level is an indicator that can be used to determine the amount of iron in the body. Its low level indicates depletion of iron stores. The test should be used in case of symptoms, like pallor, fatigue, frequent migraines, extensive pain, heartbeat, occasional increase in heart rate and muscle weakness. It can be done at any time during the day, but not if the person is ill, with acute inflammation, liver or spleen problems. Detects the Ferritin protein with special gold-conjugated monoclonal antibodies. The test result is within 5 minutes. A positive result means that the ferritin concentration is 30 ng/ml. The Prima Home Iron FER test offers an accuracy of 96.6%.

When can the test be used?
The test can be performed in case of symptoms, like pallor, fatigue, frequent migraines and widespread pain, palpitations and occasionally increased heart rate, muscle weakness. The test can be done at any time of the day, but must not be done in case of illness, acute inflammation, liver or spleen problems. In these cases, positive results may occur even in the absence of a true iron deficiency. The principle is an immunochromatographic test that detects the protein Ferritin by means of special gold-conjugated monoclonal antibodies that are inserted into the test strip. Ferritin is a protein that is responsible for the storage of iron in cells. A positive result means that the ferritin concentration is ? 30 ng/ml. The test is calibrated to 3rd International Standard NIBSC 94/572. In some cases, even samples with ferritin concentrations between 27 ng/ml and 29 ng/ml can give a negative result. The test is very accurate. According to the evaluation tests, they show an accuracy of 96.6% and a concordance rate (CI 95%: 93.4 - 99.8%) with reference methods. Use: Follow the instructions in the instructions included in the package.
