Pro-Osteo Pus 30 Tablets

A food supplement in tablet form containing calcium, vitamin D3, and vitamin K2. In humans, bone growth and mineralisation (the deposition of mineral substances into the bones) are most intense during childhood and adolescence. Peak bone mass is reached around the age of thirty, after which it begins to decline. In women, bone loss is accelerated by hormonal changes that occur before and during menopause. For this reason, proper nutrition with sufficient protein, minerals, and vitamins—especially calcium, vitamin D, and vitamin K—is crucial at every age. Daily exercise and avoiding smoking, sugary carbonated drinks, and alcohol, which significantly harm bone mass, are also important. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has confirmed that calcium, vitamin D, and vitamin K are necessary for the maintenance of normal bones. Calcium is the most abundant mineral substance in the human body, with up to 99% bound in bones and teeth. Vitamin D contributes to the normal absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus in the body. Vitamin K is actually a group of fat-soluble vitamins, with K1 and K2 being the most important. Vitamin K1 (phylloquinone) is found in green leafy vegetables but is poorly absorbed, has low bioavailability, and remains predominantly in the liver. Vitamin K2 (menaquinone) is produced by bacteria in a healthy gut environment, but most of it is excreted in the stool. In food, the richest source of vitamin K2 is the traditional Japanese dish natto, made from fermented cooked soybeans. Vitamin K2 is scarce in the typical Western diet. Pro-Osteo plus Generica contains a natural form of vitamin K2, the MK-7 isomer, which is obtained through a patented bio-fermentation process. This form has better bioavailability and remains in the blood serum for longer compared to other forms of vitamin K. For achieving maximum effect in the body, MK-7 is the optimal source of vitamin K2. Vitamin K2 ensures that calcium is delivered to the bones and teeth. It also contributes to bone mineralisation, making it necessary for the formation and maintenance of normal bone structure. The synthesis of bone proteins, the most abundant of which is osteocalcin, is dependent on vitamin K. Osteocalcin plays an important role in controlling tissue mineralisation and bone remodelling.
