Prostamol® UNO for the treatment of problems associated with an enlarged prostate
Prostamol® UNO is used in adult males to relieve lower urinary tract symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (benign prostatic enlargement), after a physician has ruled out serious causes of the discomfort. The use of this traditional herbal medicine is based solely on the experience of long-term use. Prostamol® UNO is a medicine of natural origin that contains an extract of the fruit of the dwarf palm, also known by its Latin name Serenoa repens.
WHAT IS THE PROSTATE?
The prostate (prostate gland) is a mmale sex gland that is normally about the size of a walnut. It is located in the pelvis below the bladder and surrounds the beginning of the urethra. The prostate gland produces a secretion that is expelled into the urethra during ejaculation and ensures sperm motility.

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a benign enlargement of prostate tissue, which, above all, worsens the patient's quality of life. Prostate growth is caused by hormonal imbalances in older men, especially changes in testosterone production.
WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF BHP?
The first symptoms of an enlarged prostate that you may notice on yourself are difficulty urinating. There are two types of symptoms: irritative (sinking) and obstructive (emptying).
- Irritative symptoms of BHP include: frequent and urgent urge to urinate, urination at night, sudden urge to urinate, urination can be delayed only with great difficulty (sometimes unwanted leakage of urine), soreness in the lower abdomen.
- Obstructive symptoms of BHP include: a weak stream of urine, to urinating drop by drop, delayed onset of urination, Gradual wetting to dripping of urine, intermittent urination (cessation and re-wetting), repeated and incomplete urination after a short period of time.
