High performance with AMD EPYC
The device uses a 64-bit AMD EPYC 7232P processor with a frequency of 3.2GHz, offering 8 cores and 16 threads. This x86 architecture processor works with RDIMM DDR4 ECC system memory. The base RAM capacity is 65536MB, with 8 slots populated in the system. Users can further expand the operating memory up to 1048576MB using all twelve available RDIMM slots.
Network connection
Network connectivity consists of four LAN ports and four 10GbE LAN / SFP+ interfaces. Specifically, the hardware includes two 2.5GbE ports supporting 2.5Gb/s, 1Gb/s, 100Mb/s, and 10Mb/s speeds, and two 25GbE SFP28 SmartNIC ports. Drive bays
The rack cabinet contains ten drive bays for 2.5" U.2 NVMe Gen 4 × 4 or SATA 6Gb/s SSDs. The hot-swap function lets you change individual drives during operation without needing to shut down the entire system. The system supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60, and JBOD arrays. The size of a single volume is 250TB, and the total storage pool capacity is up to 308TB.
Hardware expansion options
The motherboard includes two PCIe Gen 4 × 16 slots designed exclusively for installing low-profile add-in cards. These slots allow you to connect additional network adapters or expansion cards. The device also includes three USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports for external devices. The entire system is powered by two redundant power supplies that operate with AC voltage in the range of 100 to 240V.
Software features
The QTS operating system includes integrated services for file sharing using SAMBA, NFS, HFS and CIFS protocols. The device functions as a web, database, iSCSI, and FTP server. Users have access to data backup and recovery tools, including support for Apple Time Machine, volume snapshots, and cloud synchronisation. Data security is supported by 256-bit AES volume encryption compliant with the FIPS 140-2 CAVP standard.
Camera system and cooling
The storage system supports the connection of up to 256 IP cameras for property monitoring. Active cooling of the internal space is provided by five 60mm fans, which operate at 12V DC. The device's operating temperature ranges from 0 to 40°C at a relative humidity of 5 to 95%. The system's noise level during operation is around 51dB under standard load in a rack cabinet.
