This is a medicine intended to treat symptoms of acute (sudden-onset) diarrhea in adults.
Dosage and method of use
Dosing:
The recommended dose for adults is one capsule three times a day. Racibum should be taken preferably before main meals, but you can take one Racibum capsule at any time of the day at the start of treatment. The capsules are swallowed with a glass of water. In elderly patients, there is no need to adjust the dosage. If you do not feel better after 2 days of treatment with Racibum or if you feel worse, you must consult your doctor. The duration of treatment with Racibum should not exceed 7 days. Racibum is not suitable for use in the pediatric population. Other forms of racadotril are available for children and adolescents.
Use:
Racibum is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhoea in adults in cases where causal treatment is not possible. If causal treatment is possible, racemadotril may be given as adjunctive therapy. Always take this medicine exactly as directed in the package insert or by your doctor or pharmacist. If you are unsure, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
