Do not buy this series of APC. I trusted APC because of their reputation; this was a mistake. The transformer is on 24/7 (which is bad), and the fan only runs in certain cases (this is not good either); this is cooking the batteries, badly cutting their lifespan. The batteries cannot be replaced without voiding the warranty and complex technical operations. The APC software keeps reporting "batteries OK" even if they are bad; their tests are useless. Mine stopped being able to take over even 80W of load after 2 years and 1 day - conveniently just outside the warranty period. If the power cuts out, the APC dies immediately. For the cost of this horrible cost-cutting design you can get much better Eaton or Cyberpower units. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
I was happy with the previous APC model, it worked for over 5 years before the battery went dead. That's why I bought 2 of these newer APC models. One UPS to myself, one to a relative in the family (so they were in different environments and differently utilized). The first UPS broke in 1.5 years, the second in less than 2 years. After my experience with this model, I will go to another brand next time.

It does what it's supposed to when the power goes out, it holds long enough. It will give you enough time to save everything in peace, hang up and shut down the computer.

The first day after plugging in a terrible smell - burning, the second day better, the third day nothing can be smelled. Quick and easy to connect. Settings in Synology NAS also without problem, it can put the NAS to sleep when the battery is low, then wake the NAS up again when the power is restored - which was the purpose of the purchase. Obviously underpowered for a PC, but a NAS, switch and router will do nicely.
