I was looking for a gaming wireless headset that could be used for casual gaming (PC, PS5), listening to music, as well as video conferencing with a microphone, and most importantly at a decent price. In addition to the headphones, you'll find a USB power cable, microphone and USB dongle for 2.4GHz wireless transmission. The 2023 model on sale for about 1,700 (original price about 2,600) seems like a reasonable compromise. So what does JBL offer us? Connectivity with PC absolutely no problems (Win 11 Home). The headphones fit well on the skull and do not press on the ears even after a long time. Ambient sound is less muffled by the headphones (an advantage for some, not for others). The microphone is average. It won't offend, but it won't delight either. It's OK for video conferencing or in-game communication, but I wouldn't use it for streaming. The sound quality through the 2.4 GHz transmitter is quite average. In the basic settings, the sound is overbassed and the maximum volume could be higher. The sound via Bluetooth is at least an order of magnitude better. Both for gaming and listening to music great. But beware. Over Bluetooth, the sound is delayed by about 0.3 seconds compared to the picture. The manufacturer, JBL, states that the delay is due to the buffered audio processing technology. Supposedly resolved with a newer update. Well, he didn't. Maybe a handy DIYer can help with the JBL app or newer firmware? Battery life over 22 hours is OK for me. Bottom line. For the discounted price, it still offers decent music. I rate it four stars.
