After 2 years and almost weekly calibration, all 4 heads gradually failed. I went back to the classic thermostatic heads. What one saves on heating, one puts into the head. So useless.
I saved
easy installation
I put what I saved into these heads, no more, no less.
constant need for calibration
from the principle of operation of the head - if the head has not switched on, the radiator heats to the max until the person has calibrated it again 4 times
despite the new installation the problems persisted
they system when the battery is almost empty completly opens the valve, and the battery sometimes dies without a low battery warning so if you are on holiday, you can end up that the system just opens a valve and the radiator is heating the empty room
some of the devices going crazy and draining the battery in a week constantly and you cannot repair it
they cannot close some of the valves completly and you are heating while the app says you are not
the plastic inside are easily broke
you cannot reach the heating system via app, if servers are down
We bought them instead of the ones that were no longer functional (2 out of 3 lasted about 3-4 years, we attribute it to unsustainable treatment of children, the 3rd one works), they work as they should. The original ones got pretty old towards the end.
mostly works as it should (modes etc)
this time it had to be set up with android, but after seeing the settings the apple app works
constant connection to the app does not work, cannot change the temperature permanently in any other way
re-pairing to wifi doesn't help
incompetent support
we bought on sale when the extended return period from the manufacturer on dissatisfaction is false, their return form did not work, support does not talk to you
If someone is showing a calibration error, it is due to poor installation.
The batteries last more than 3 years - you just have to use lithium AA cells, they are more expensive but worth it: -)
The displays are the Achilles heel.
That's why I give only two stars, otherwise I would have given five.
The manufacturer is turning its back on the problem.
Easy installation
They work great
Battery lasts 3+ years
but lithium AA cells must be used
Nice simple design
Application
Manufacturer should give 5 years warranty on OLED diplay
I have had the Netatmo system for 4 heating seasons and before the start of the fifth I decided to replace it with a competitor's product. I have the following setup: I live in a multi-generational house where we have a gas boiler in the basement, a ground floor flat where there are normal heads and our first floor flat with a thermostat and 6 Netatmo heads. This leads to the first problem - the whole architecture is designed in such a way that the relay connects to the Internet and serves as a gateway. All heads and thermostat are then connected to the relay. So if you have a boiler in the basement, expect problems with the connection and the need to bring the net there. It helped me to bring the relay to the ground floor, but even so the signal is quite bad and there are frequent disconnections. Why the thermostat doesn't serve as a gateway, I don't understand. This might not yet be a problem for most households. What is the biggest pain, however, are the constant errors that the heads generate - every now and then there is a calibration error where the head then opens fully and floods your entire apartment while you are away. Lubricating the valves with silicone or doubling the heads does not help (recommended procedure by Netatma). When the calibration problem disappears for a while, the "low battery" problem starts to appear for a change, when the head reports empty batteries and opens the valve fully. When you take the batteries out and put them in, everything is ok again. I've also tried measuring with a voltmeter and never even came close to the batteries being dead. This is by no means the only case - you can read about similar experiences online. The heads and thermostat also have a very short life span - after 2 years the ink display on two of them went out. Apparently the thermostat doesn't have a long life either. the worst product I've ever owned. Get your hands off it.
UX/UI applications
head design?
extreme unreliability - the head reports a calibration error every now and then, or low batteries (even if they are not low
price
the open window function absolutely does not work
temperature sensor - I have two radiators next to each other and each head measures 1.5 C different temperature.
