The wizard in the application is completely useless - the wheel spins for 40 minutes when connecting and you don' t know if it' s good or not and if it does something.
It is possible to change the input using an IR remote control (older ones). However, most of the times detects the active input and changes automatically.
It frees up HDMI TV ports
CEC not correctly implemented. Apple TV 4K does not passthrough CEC commands correctly, meaning I have to increase the volume of the TV with another remote control. It could be different with different TV brand or newer models.

i can confirm the ps5 and xbox one x with the sync box support vrr fully. No problems, only turn off allm in the settings because it seems to not work with it on. But the allm settings says that even if you turn it off when vrr is on it still uses it, to some degree.
you don't need the upcoming 8k version this one supports everything.
Every few minutes it loses connection and resets, the synchronization of the lights stops, but after a few seconds it starts again. At a facility of this price unacceptable. I'm using with Nvidia Shield TV Pro and LG OLED, I've tried different HDMI 2.1 cables, but without success.
