Unfortunately, it's obvious at a glance. /I can handle this defect, but what about the others? / Although it is a design product, it is otherwise a fully functional product for everyday use. Not exactly cheap. The product certainly deserved more emphasis on quality control and, given the price, more uncompromising in "getting the product out to the end customers".
