Quite a misleading name and description – the fan isn’t actually as quiet as you’d expect from the information provided. I have a West Wind model at home, which I bought in 2023. I’m happy with it (apart from the fact that the top segment of the display has stopped working), because it’s really very quiet, even at full power. As the weather this year is almost hot enough to burn you, I wanted to get a second fan for the room where the air con doesn’t really reach. I’ll have a look on Alza, search for Siguro, and see ‘Silent Wind’ in the name; it’s rated at 35 dB (the West Wind is listed as 39 dB), and it’s cheaper than the West Wind too – brilliant. Except that it doesn’t at all. It’s just a hair’s breadth better than the Sencor, which costs a few hundred, and it’s about 15 to 20 dB louder than the West Wind (measured using a phone app behind the fan at a comparable fan speed). The West Wind has 9 speeds and is virtually silent. Then there’s the ‘High’ setting, where you can hear it a little, but still less than ‘Silent’ Wind on setting 6/12. At setting 10, you can hear it from the next room, and 12 is really loud. I should point out that everything has been put together correctly. Oh, and dynamic pricing – which Alza’s really gone all out on at the moment – is really starting to get on my nerves. When I bought the Silent Wind, it was only available at the full ‘Super’ price of 2399, —, even though I have an AlzaPlus account. All of a sudden, West Wind popped up – it used to cost 3,499 (I should point out that in 2023 I bought it without a discount for 2,399) – and suddenly there’s a 20% off code. Well, I’m returning ‘Silent’ Wind, then. I’d recommend that you all wait until West Wind is back at its normal price; otherwise, the cheaper Sencor is probably a better option. This fan just doesn’t make any sense at that price.
Simple assembly
Stable
Good performance
It’s certainly not silent
The sound has an annoying whirring hum, which becomes increasingly noticeable as the power output increases
Nice quality stable fan. In this heat, the room blows quite strongly. Someone wrote here that the beeping can't be turned off. The controller has 4 buttons - blowing level, off, oscillation, timer. Under the oscillation and timer are 2 hidden invisible buttons. I squeezed them simultaneously and held for a moment. The beeping when switching gears has stopped. When the fan is switched off and on, it is recorded in the memory, so there is no need to set it again: )
Wonderful design
12 speeds
Led display + remote control
Not audible up to 4 degrees
Beeping when switching between gears can be switched off
Verified purchase - review from a price comparison website
I was looking for a fan that I could run overnight and not be heard, this one does the job perfectly - at lower speeds I have to check if it's on or not.: D
It's not a bad product. But it could easily have fewer grades, but with better workmanship.
Quiet
Output
The fan is quiet during operation, but the control is terribly loud. The beeping when you adjust it is annoying.
There is only one direction of speed control. If you want to go from 6 to 3, you have to go through all the levels.
The remote is such a joke that it looks like it's going to fall apart soon.
