I got a Sonos Move 2 and a JBL Boombox 4.
I couldn't just choose based on reviews, I needed to hear how it sounded and how it was to live with.
After unpacking, I unfortunately fell in love with both. sound, design and workmanship. In the end, I stuck with the Sonos Move 2. The reason is the style of use. It will be primarily on a daily basis in the office and in the apartment. I'm gonna take the max out to the party. 1x a year. He has just the right bass for enclosed spaces (he is not annoying to me or the neighbours). The volume is more than sufficient. It fits in a bigger backpack. Thanks to its minimalist design, it can find a place anywhere. Sonos Move 2 belongs in the hands of an adult music listener =-)
In contrast, the JBL Boombox 4 is made to BE outdoors where the bass will be roaring at the barbecue, on the construction site, at the cottage. I also found it generally louder, easier to use and quick to connect. I would probably get this if I were still a student, it would be perfect for me! =-) Rating by media type:
For Rock, DnB, Metal music it gets 4.5/5 (I think there is probably nothing better in such a compact package for closed spaces).
For Pop, hip-hop, soft-electro music 5/5 (practically perfect).

I don't regret buying it.
The only negative I see is in the control of the device, which is primarily firmware, or on my part, the habit of working with more complex devices. PS: strange findings, placed somewhere in the corner of the room sounded best: )
