In the early frenzied 1990s, the most notorious serial killer enters the scene.
Krauza's ability, perhaps even talent, to get involved in cases tinged with political and power machinations was well known and characteristic of him. Fortunately, not all homicides investigated by the homicide squad were of this ilk. Much more often their cases had ordinary, normal criminal overtones, and so it was in this case.
In the early, frenzied 1990s, the most notorious serial killer, Andrew, enters the scene, leaving a bloody trail in three countries.
No one believes Krause will continue, that he is standing at the beginning of a series of brutal rapes and murders. He fights in vain with the higher-ups to get them to focus only on the sock killer - they don't believe him, they fear panic.
Krauza's logic is countered by the killer's clever tactics - he takes incomprehensibly long pauses between attacks, the meaning, perhaps the message, of which the detectives cannot decipher. It was during one of them that a bizarre murder happened, which tested their patience, observation, deduction.
Krauz has no idea if the sock killer has unpredictably quickly activated or if a new one has stepped out of his shadow. Are they still fighting with Andrew or is someone getting under their feet?
Fata viam invenient.
Fate will find a way. (Vergil)
