Robitussin Antitussicum for dry irritating cough 7,5 mg/5 ml syrup
Robitussin Antitussicum contains the medicinal substance dextromethorphan. It is a cough medicine that relieves and suppresses dry, irritating coughs. The product is intended for use in adults, adolescents and children from 6 years of age.
What is dry cough and how to treat it?
A dry cough is an irritating, scratchy cough that is often associated with swelling and congestion of the mucous membranes in the airways. This is a non-productive cough, i.e. you do not cough up mucus from your bronchial tubes. It is usually triggered by minor irritation in the throat and bronchial tubes, which can be caused by e.g. the common cold. A dry cough can be relieved with medicines called antitussives. If the cough is unproductive, bothersome or debilitating and interferes with sleep, it is wise to suppress it with an antitussive.

How to take Robitussin Antitussicum?
Recommended dosage:
Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over: 7.5 ml every 4 hours.
Use in children 6 - 12 years: 5 ml every 4 hours.
Robitussin Antitussicum should not be given to children under 6 years of age.
Use the included measuring cup to measure the dose. Do not exceed the recommended dosage. Always take this medicine exactly as directed in the package insert or by your doctor or pharmacist. If the cough persists for more than 7 days (3 days in children), returns, or is accompanied by fever, rash, or persistent headache, stop taking Robitussin Antitussicum and consult your doctor.
What does Robitussin Antitussicum contain?
The active substance is: dextromethorphan hydrobromide monohydrate. 5 ml of syrup contains 7,5 mg of dextromethorphan hydrobromide monohydrate. The auxiliary substances are: glycerol, carmellose sodium, sodium benzoate (E 211), disodium edetate, maltitol solution (E 965), ethanol 96% (V/V), citric acid, amaranth (E 123), caramel, levomenthol, cherry aroma, crystallising sorbitol 70% (E 420), sodium cyclamate, acesulfame potassium, purified water.
Read the package insert carefully. ROBITUSSIN ANTITUSSICUM for dry irritating cough 7.5 mg/5 ml syrup and ROBITUSSIN JUNIOR for dry irritating cough 3.75 mg/5 ml syrup are medicines for internal use. They contain dextromethorphan-hydrobromide monohydrate. ROBITUSSIN EXPECTORANS expectorant 100 mg/5 ml syrup is a medicine for internal use. Contains guaifenesin.
