Data protection and NAS optimisation
IronWolf drives include a three-year Rescue Data Recovery Services plan for data recovery from mechanical damage, accidents or external events, provided by a specialised manufacturer's service. They are optimised for high-volume NAS systems with multiple concurrent access, using CMR technology for a higher workload and stable operation. The AgileArray firmware manages data writing and supports operation in RAID configurations.
Software and CMR technology
The IronWolf Health Management (IHM) software is included with IronWolf drives and is used to monitor drive status, provide maintenance recommendations, and more accurately predict potential failures in NAS systems. IronWolf drives use Conventional Magnetic Recording (CMR) technology and are equipped with vibration sensors for stable operation in multi-drive setups. They support a workload of up to 180TB per year, which meets the requirements of commercial and enterprise NAS solutions.
