The Shanling EH3 headphone amplifier makes a triumphant return to the world of simplified desktop audio. Built on the success of the EM5 streamer, the EH3 responds to the demand for a simpler device, delivering flawless performance and elegance. The EH3 boasts considerable power, reaching up to 1.9W at 32 Ohms // 205mW at 300 Ohms in single-ended mode, and 5.3W at 32 Ohms // 700mW at 300 Ohms in balanced mode. With this level of power, it can effortlessly drive the vast majority of headphones on the market today. For the most demanding headphones, however, the EM7 offers even more power. The EH3 features a dual power supply system, thoughtfully divided between the analogue and digital sections, which effectively minimises interference between components for an undistorted audio experience.

Advanced system and controls
The EH3 is powered by the Ingenic X2000 platform and shares the same system and control interface as the ET3 CD Transport. The central multifunction wheel controls both volume and menu navigation, and is complemented by playback and input buttons on the top panel. Users can navigate the intuitive circular screen on the front of the device or use the Eddict Player app as a remote control from smartphones and tablets. A remote control is also included with the EH3.
Unrivalled connectivity
The EH3 is equipped with Bluetooth 5.0 and 2.4G/5G Wi-Fi for wireless playback. It can function as a Bluetooth receiver, supporting LDAC, AAC and SBC codecs. In addition, it integrates seamlessly into local Wi-Fi networks, serving as an Airplay 1 or DLNA endpoint. The rear panel offers a versatile range of inputs and outputs, including USB, optical, coaxial and I2S HDMI for DAC use, as well as analogue RCA inputs for pure amplifier functionality.
Complementing the ET3 model
The EH3 boasts an impressive array of 4 headphone outputs, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of headphones. Single-ended outputs are available via both 3.5mm and 6.35mm connectors, while the balanced output is enabled through a 4.4mm connector and a 4-pin XLR. The EH3 was partly developed to function optimally with the ET3 CD player. The two devices can be linked via a high-quality I2S connection using the new L8 cable for a truly perfect CD and MQA CD playback experience.
