It is a physically scaled-down version of the connector that carries all of the capabilities and features of the full-fledged DisplayPort 1.4 standard. With a transfer rate of up to 32.4 Gbps and using DSC (Display Stream Compression) technology - visually lossless image compression - it can transmit signals for monitors with 4K resolution at 120 Hz or 8K at 60 Hz. Of course, there's full support for HDR (High Dynamic Range) for more vivid colors, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) for smooth, jerk-free images, and Multi-Stream Transport (MST) for connecting multiple monitors in series. However, to take advantage of these capabilities, the technology must be supported by both the signal source (laptop, PC) and the monitor itself.
